Interesting story: About 4 years ago, I also wanted to indulge into the realm of Bluetooth speakers. That was before I had work and got paid, so my money was limited and my budget sat at around 100€. Using the same 100€, I decided to buy a bus ticket to one city away, going to a tech store and looking for a speaker. I sought out some advise and the tech store showed me 3 products for my budget range. Funnily enough, it was the JBL Clip, Grundig GBT and an off-brand bluetooth speaker I have seen never again ever since, but sitting at around 70€ or so. I also saw the JBL Flip at that time which I wanted at first, but I couldn't afford. Deluded as I was, I said... "Well, everyone hypes JBL, so I should take that one". Leaving 60 bucks in that tech store and going home. In the hindsight, I should have requested audio samples at this tech store, but instead decided to buy the JBL because of the name. Went home, used the speaker, I was somewhat impressed at first but eventually this impression dwindled and I wasn't happy anymore. So I looked around, everyone still hyped JBL. People said my choice was good and so on and so forth. One year later, I have work now, sitting with a much broader budged. I was about to buy the JBL Extreme 3 but decided not to. Instead, I looked around the internet, seeing Soundcore Motion Boom Plus popping by. And at that time, there was a sale going on where they sold it for 40€ off, so instead of 180€, I got it for 140€. Purchased, delivered, turned it on, wasn't impressed at first, but I looked up some EQ's. Found one, applied it, used the speaker and I was exceptionally impressed. Impressed with Soundcore. I decided "Hey, let's see what I would have gotten if I had spent those 100€ on something else instead" Went to Soundcore again, saw the Motion Plus, bought it, got it delivered, applied some EQ's again and bam... High-quality audio for 80€ which still never leaves my backpack and is regularly used in-doors. Looked at the clip I paid 60€ for and asked myself why everyone uses JBL. I tell you why everyone uses and praises JBL. It's a big name everyone knows and connects it to something amazing. Despite it never being amazing. Sure, the JBL Encore is pretty neat, but other brands like Soundcore, Earfun, Tribit and even bigger brands like Sony, Bose, Marshall or Teufel have a much better audio spectrum and are feature packed. And taking into account just how much value you get for your money, those cheaper brand speakers have the bigger package per Euro ratio. My friend runs around with his 350€ JBL Extreme 4 and still asks me if I could bring my Soundcore Motion Boom Plus over because it has the better bass and overall better audio quality post-EQ settings. For half the price I got more out of it. But sure, JBL has to be better, right? Edit: An addition to this, I have also recently bought the Boomcore P6 bluetooth speaker because my mom wanted one for her work so she can listen to music while still being able to respond to people. And at this time of purchase, there was a sale going on on amazon where you buy one speaker, and you can buy another speaker for free, so you get two speakers for the price of one. One is currently 20€. I kept the other one, used it. Lacks a tiny bit in terms of bass, but other than that, for 20€, you're getting a decent sounding speaker. Just to mention, the JBL variant would cost more than twice as much.

How is the EarFun WTF bass output in the lower volume, say 1/4 ? Thanks Oluv once again for another test on which you actually can judge the sound quality yourself. Most other reviewers use crappy equipment which do not reproduce the sound for proper evaluation.

Kilburn 2 clear crisp sharp but unidirectional coming from old technology sealing of water resistance high density strong box around it blocking the spherical flow of sound waves. Stockwell 2 omnidirectional facing speakers or more grills or soft material giving passage to sound sphere around it with better tuning and reverb. Despite Killburn’s shortcomings, it has better instrument separation and the subtle sounds can be heard.

I can't wait for that one! I bought UBoom L in early birds and I'm just more than happy about this speaker (ofc with Oluv's firmware). It's gonna be sick to hear bigger brother of UBoom L <3

So one thing to keep in mind is that even in an anechoic chamber, each ear is also hearing the speaker on the opposite side, with a slight time delay, and with a different frequency response because not all the frequencies manage to "wrap around" your head to the opposite ear. The real voodoo is how your brain sums all of this together. Because your brain manages to "decode" all of this in a way that is unlikely to be easy to measure. Probably, anyway. I wonder what you would get if you measured each speaker separately for each ear, and summed them together.
